and it's been awhile...

Yeah, so it's been over a year since I updated our wedding blog. Sorry! :D

It actually happened- we got married March 21st, 2009, on the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. Everything went perfectly... except for the captain (our officiant) calling me Joanie... repeatedly... after corrections... in the middle of the vows... oops! Oh well- I was laughing throughout, and totally didn't mind. We were whisked away from the Queen Mary to Catalina Island for our honeymoon by helicopter, which was amazing. On our way over there (about 15 minute flight),we saw multiple pods of dolphins jumping in the water. Late that night, a huge windstorm came in, and didn't allow any people on or off the island- we were shipwrecked! It was pretty cool to have such an amazing place all to ourselves!

Married life has been amazing. Chris now works as a technical animator for Disney Studios in Burbank, which is a lot of fun (for me). I enjoy the spouse perks- free passes to Disneyland, that kind of thing. It a lot more stressful for the actual employee! The commute from Redondo Beach to Burbank hasn't been a fun experience for him, but he's been such a good sport! That show's cut date is August 14th, so we're looking for the next great show to use his talents!

I'm still working at Meadows as the science specialist, a poition I love with a passion! I'm currently working on starting the SS position at a new school in Palos Verdes. It's an exciting time for me in my career, and I can't wait!

During the summer, I'm still working for Destination Science as the Site Director for the Redondo Beach and Rancho Palos Verdes sites, which is another amazing position that I love. This summer hasn't been without some challenge already, but I love it so much that I'm willing to wwork through the issues!

I had an experience of a lifetime in June, when I went to Space Camp in Alabama! I spent a week in astronaut training, and had the time of my life! Ask me for more stories, but be prepared- I'll talk to you for hours about it!!!

Hopefully it'll be less than a year before I update again!
