3 days!

Under a week! It's amazing! I've developed a cold, because I thought I wasn't doing enough this week! :) Even though I know it's from the stress of school, plus getting pink-slipped, plus the wedding, but that still doesn't make it any easier! I'm drinking orange juice, taking Zicam, resting as much as possible, washing my hands, doing all the things that I tell my students to do when they're sick... here's to hoping it works!

As of now everything's still on track for the wedding. We were thinking my dad's tux was going to be the hardest outfit, because he's so tall, but everything was a perfect fit- I think that's a good sign! People are flying into town about every 6 hours, between Chris' side and my side, so that's always exciting.

I can't wait! I just can't wait!

We finally have internet... with under a week to go!

Sorry it's been so long since an update- we FINALLY got internet in our apartment!!! Life has been so insanely crazy that we didn't have a chance until now!

The wedding is 6 days away! Oh my word... I never thought it would actually get here! Family is starting to come in on Monday, and then the craziness truly begins! I can't wait!

PLEASE give us about a week or two to get settled- as of right now, we still have no power!!! :) It's supposed to be turned on today, so that'll help, but our living room is COVERED in boxes! We have flashlights set up all around the house, and a big lantern in the bathroom so we can take showers- it's like indoor camping! Fun times! We definitely want to have people over once we're ready... just give us a tiny bit of time!

Crisis averted!

I finally got a hold of my coordinator on the Mary, and she said that yes, some SHARES of the Mary are for sale, but absolutely nothing is going to change. Hallelujah! Gotta love the media who takes a tiny story and exaggerates it beyond everything!

Chris and I are going to the Queen Mary today to do our food tasting- should be a lot of fun! We're just finishing up the invitations, and just about everything is set- under 8 weeks!

Okay, I'm stressing out now

I'm officially stressing out, but it really has nothing to do with the wedding! Well, not really. I was informed that due to the WONDERFUL budget here in California, in addition to other things, my district's budget is 1.7 MILLION in the red, with even more deficits next year. Because I'm a part-time, non-tenured teacher, the odds are EXTREMELY good that I will not have a job in the fall. It obviously isn't definite, but doesn't help the nerves.

I came home from spending a couple of days in Culver City to Chris' dad asking if I had heard about the Queen Mary. I had no clue what he was talking about, so I look on the internet and find out that the Mary is for SALE!!! Aparrently the company that owns the Mary can't afford it any more, again due to the economy, and so they're trying to sell it! Oh man- they BETTER keep the appointments they already have! I don't know if I can handle any more!!!!

We got the apartment!

We got our apartment!!!!!! We have to still sign the papers and such, but we got it! Yee-hah! The move-in date is the 1st of February (Superbowl Sunday), which is also the same weekend as our friends' wedding that we are both in, so that's going to be an INSANE weekend. Anyone want to help us move? We'll pay with the BEST pizza ever- from Fresh Brothers Pizza! The apartment is located in Redondo Beach, right on the border between Redondo and Torrance. We can't wait!

I FINALLY got a hold of the Queen Mary people in terms of reserving rooms- if you want the information, call or e-mail me! I'll be sending out more information with the invitations- they'll (hopefully) be in the mail at the beginning of February or so.

We think we got an apartment!!!!!!

Chris and I did the full application on an apartment!!! We absolutely love it, and REALLY hope we get it! It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, with a 2-car garage in Redondo Beach, and has a balcony that has a view of the Pacific Ocean!!!! It's amazing and wonderful, and we REALLY hope we get it! Please pray for us!

The new year is upon us, and so I wanted to show you a quick pic of us pretty close to the very beginning of 2009! The countdown is on to the wedding... I can't believe it's almost here!!!

We looked at apartments yesterday, and are going to try to see inside one tomorrow. Although right now is SO good to buy a place, we don't have the down payment right now, so we decided we're going to rent for a year or so, save up, and get a house in the beginning of 2010. Believe me- a LOT of thinking, spread-sheeting, and praying went into this decision! :)
